FAQs

HOW LONG SHOULD WE EXPECT IT TO TAKE?
 

Marrow has a fully licensed and insured commercial kitchen, which allows us to complete much of the "prep" for your meal in our facility. The major advantage of this is that we don't need to arrive 3-4 hours prior to service and take over your kitchen for the entire afternoon like many other private chefs. Generally, our events last about 2 hours start to finish, and we'll leave your kitchen cleaner than we found it!

HOW DO DELIVERIES WORK?

All meal deliveries are made between 5pm and 7pm, based on our private chef schedule for the evening. You can contact us the morning of your delivery and we can give you a more precise delivery window.

We are happy to set everything up for everyone to eat upon arrival, or, if you like, we can also place all of the hot food in the oven on warm for your group to enjoy later in the evening.

IS MY DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?

Deposits are 75% refundable 30+ days from the event date. Inside of 30 days, we will still refund 75% of the deposit if we are able to fill the booking. If we are not able to fill the reservation, the deposit will be forfeit. Deposits on holidays/holiday weekends are non-refundable.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THAT PRICE?

Our pricing includes all ingredients, groceries and product costs, chefs' fees, setup & breakdown fees, travel fees, cleaning fees, staffing fees, state and local taxes, and 20% gratuity. The only thing not included is rental fees for larger events for things like plates, glassware, linens, etc. We do not handle any rentals in house, so those will need to be sourced from one of our local event rental partners.

CAN I REQUEST A CUSTOMIZED MENU?

Absolutely! If you have any special requests or are looking for something in particular, just let us know when you request your reservation, and if we can make it happen, we will!

HOW LATE CAN WE MAKE CHANGES?

All menus must be confirmed 7 days prior to the day of the event. Fees may be assessed as necessary for menu changes inside this timeframe. Additionally, we can USUALLY accommodate the addition of extra guests up to 12 hours prior to the meal, but no guests can be subtracted from the invoice within 5 days of the event.

DO YOU OFFER WINE PAIRINGS OR PREPARE COCKTAILS?

We sure do. We have an option for wine pairings on our Private Chef Experience menu, which we will personally pair with your menu selections and source for you. In addition, if you would like us to put together a fun signature cocktail for your group, just let us know and we'll be happy to.

WHAT DO WE NEED TO DO TO PREPARE FOR THE CHEFS’ ARRIVAL?

Please just make sure that all of the plates and silverware in the home are clean and ready for our use, that the dishwasher is empty, and that the kitchen is as tidy as possible. If you’ll take care of that, we’ll take care of everything else!

WE HAVE PEOPLE WITH DIETARY RESTRICTIONS? CAN MARROW ACCOMMODATE THAT?

Of course! Just let us know when you submit your reservation request and we can create a menu to suit everyone. Also, you'll see that on our online booking platform we have common dietary notations for most of our menu items to help you in selecting the best menu for your group.
