Seaside, Florida is one of the most iconic destinations on 30A—pastel cottages, white picket fences, brick-lined streets. It's where The Truman Show was filmed, and where families return year after year for the charm, the walkability, and the unhurried pace.
It's also one of our favorite places to cook.
Seaside cottages are designed for gathering. Open floor plans, wraparound porches, dining tables built for family-style meals. The architecture invites connection, and private chef service fits seamlessly into that rhythm.
Here's what makes a Seaside private chef experience different—and how to make the most of it.

Why Seaside Works for Private Chef Service
The Cottages Are Built for Entertaining
Seaside rentals prioritize communal spaces. Kitchens open into living areas. Dining tables are central, not tucked away. Porches wrap around the home, offering multiple spots to gather before and after the meal.
This layout is ideal for private chef service. We set up in the kitchen, prep and cook while your group mingles, and serve the meal when everyone's ready. The flow is natural.
Walkability Means No One Drives
In Seaside, everything is within walking distance—the beach, the amphitheater, Bud & Alley's, the town square. Guests don't need to coordinate cars or designate drivers.
This makes private chef service even more appealing. After a day at the beach, your group can walk back to the cottage, pour drinks, and relax. No reservations, no driving, no waiting for a table.
The meal comes to you.
The Setting Complements the Experience
There's something about dining in a Seaside cottage that feels intentional. The architecture, the light, the proximity to the beach—it all contributes to the experience.
We've served meals on screened porches overlooking the dunes, at long farm tables with the windows open, in cozy dining rooms lit by candles. The setting does half the work.
What to Expect in a Seaside Cottage Kitchen
Compact but Functional
Seaside cottages vary in size, but most kitchens are designed to be functional, not elaborate. You'll find a four-burner stovetop, a standard oven, a dishwasher, and a refrigerator.
Counter space can be limited, especially in the smaller cottages. We've learned to work efficiently in tight quarters—using dining tables as prep stations, organizing equipment vertically, and staging dishes in the refrigerator.
We bring all of our own cooking equipment, so we're never dependent on the rental's cookware. Knives, pots, pans, serving platters—it all comes with us.
Open Layouts Mean Guests See the Process
In most Seaside cottages, the kitchen opens directly into the living and dining areas. This means your guests will see us cooking.
Some hosts love this—it adds an element of theater to the evening. Others prefer us to work quietly in the background. Either way, we adapt to your preference.
If you want interaction, we're happy to explain what we're preparing, answer questions, and engage with your group. If you want us to stay out of the way, we do that too.
Recommended Menus for Seaside Cottages
Signature Private Chef Experience
Our Signature Private Chef Experience is the most popular choice for Seaside gatherings. Four courses, plated and served, showcasing seasonally featured dishes.
It's the right level of refinement for a special occasion—elevated but not overly formal.
Chophouse Dinner
For larger groups or family celebrations, the Chophouse Dinner is ideal. Prime beef, fresh Gulf seafood, and elevated sides served family-style.
It's casual in presentation but refined in execution. The kind of meal that encourages conversation and second helpings.
Private Chef Brunch
If your group is staying multiple days, consider booking a Private Chef Brunch. Skirt steak hash, limoncello chicken and waffles, and fresh pastries.
Brunch lets your group sleep in, skip the crowded breakfast spots in town, and start the day with a memorable meal in the cottage.
Custom Menus
For groups with specific preferences or dietary restrictions, we offer fully custom menus. We've prepared Gulf seafood feasts, Italian-inspired dinners, and vegetarian tasting menus in Seaside cottages.
The process starts with a conversation about what you envision, and we build the menu around your preferences.
Ideal Occasions for Seaside Private Chef Service
Multi-Generational Family Vacations
Seaside is a magnet for multi-generational trips—grandparents, parents, kids, cousins. Private chef service simplifies the logistics of feeding a large group while keeping everyone together.
No coordinating multiple restaurant reservations. No splitting the group between different spots. Everyone gathers at the cottage for a meal designed to please all ages.
Milestone Celebrations
Birthdays, anniversaries, retirements—Seaside is a popular backdrop for milestone celebrations. A private chef dinner adds a layer of intention to the occasion without requiring anyone to leave the cottage.
We've plated birthday cakes, toasted anniversaries, and served farewell dinners for families celebrating decades of Seaside vacations.
Intimate Weddings and Rehearsal Dinners
Seaside's Chapel by the Sea and Ruskin Square are popular wedding venues. Many couples book private chef service for rehearsal dinners or post-wedding brunches in their rental cottages.
It keeps the celebration intimate and eliminates the stress of coordinating large groups at a restaurant. Learn more about our wedding services.
Just Because
Not every private chef dinner needs a reason. Some of the best meals we've prepared in Seaside were for groups who simply wanted to elevate their vacation without the hassle of dining out.
A Tuesday night can feel special when the meal is crafted specifically for your group.
What Makes Seaside Different from Other 30A Communities
The Walkability Factor
Unlike other 30A communities where rentals are spread out, Seaside is compact and walkable. This makes it easier for guests to coordinate arrivals, explore the town, and return to the cottage without needing cars.
For private chef service, this means your group is more likely to be present and relaxed when we arrive. No one is stuck in traffic or scrambling to find parking.
The Architecture and Layout
Seaside cottages are designed with porches, courtyards, and communal spaces. Many have outdoor dining areas that work beautifully for warm evenings.
We've served meals on screened porches, rooftop decks, and open-air patios. The architecture enhances the experience.
The Seaside Aesthetic
Seaside has a distinct look—pastel cottages, white picket fences, brick streets. The aesthetic is charming but not overly formal, which aligns well with our approach to private chef service.
We're not trying to recreate a Michelin-starred tasting room. We're preparing restaurant-quality food in a setting that feels comfortable and welcoming.
How to Book Private Chef Service in Seaside
Plan Ahead
Seaside is one of the most popular destinations on 30A, especially during peak season (March through September). If you're planning a private chef dinner, we recommend booking 4-6 weeks in advance.
Last-minute bookings are sometimes available, but advance notice gives us time to coordinate scheduling, source ingredients, and plan your menu.
Confirm Kitchen Access
Most Seaside cottages are well-equipped for private chef service, but it's worth confirming that the stovetop, oven, and refrigerator are functional. If your rental has any kitchen limitations, let us know when you book.
Communicate Group Size and Dietary Needs
We need an accurate guest count and any dietary restrictions or preferences at least 10 days before your event. This allows us to adjust the menu and source ingredients accordingly.
Decide on Service Style
Do you want plated courses served to the table? Family-style dishes passed around? A combination of both? Let us know your preference, and we'll design the service to match.
After the Meal: Cleanup and Departure
Once the final course is served, we handle cleanup, pack up our equipment, and leave the kitchen spotless. You won't find a single dirty dish.
Most groups linger at the table long after we've gone—refilling wine glasses, sharing stories, savoring the last bites of dessert. That's exactly what we want.
The meal becomes part of the memory of the trip, not just another dinner.
Seaside Dining Without Leaving the Cottage
Seaside is full of dining options—Bud & Alley's, Great Southern, The Meltdown, Pickle's. But there's something singular about dining in your own cottage, with the people you came to see, in the space you've made your own for the week.
No waiting for tables. No coordinating schedules. No distractions.
Just the meal, the company, and the setting.
